Coral Chiaretti was selected as a resident student mentor to work with Professor Chris Reed in the “Mathematics of Games and Gambling” seminar.

Mentors are a paraprofessional member of the Academic Services and Residential Life staffs. The role is part of the college's peer support program that improves student outcomes.

Mentors live and work with students enrolled in a specific first-year seminar as part of a Living Learning Community. The role of the mentor includes:

  • attending First Year Seminar events
  • assisting on field trips
  • supporting in-class learning
  • fostering out-of-class learning through activities, study sessions, and individual peer mentoring

In addition, the mentors give presentations and lead discussions on various topics at the annual off-campus retreat for students on academic probation.
