Conrad earns CoSIDA Academic All-District honors

Brandon Conrad, a rising junior with majors in chemistry from Bloomsburg, Pa., earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 honors on the association's at-large team.

Conrad enjoyed a breakthrough 36-13 season in which he finished sixth at the NCAA Mideast Regional. The 174-pounder finished second on the team with 36 wins and 10 falls while leading the squad with 18 wins by decision. A chemistry major, Conrad placed third at the ONU Invitational, second at the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championships, fourth at the MAC Championships and fourth at the John Summa Invitational while also going undefeated at the Budd Whitehill National Duals.

Conrad is one of two Warriors to earn a slot on the at-large team since Joe Andrie (men's swimming) was selected in 2012 before going on to earn Third Team Academic All-American honors.

To be eligible for the Capital One Academic All-American award, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.

The Academic All-America program currently selects 12 teams at the University Division level and 12 teams at the College Division level. The program currently selects the following Academic All-America teams: men's and women's soccer, volleyball, football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's cross country and track, women's cross country and track, men's at-large and women's at-large.
