Coral Chiaretti selected for 2016 Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band Festival

2016 Jan 27

Coral Chiaretti, a junior from Ashland, Pa., has been selected to participate in the 2016 Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band Festival, one of the states oldest music events. The festival will be held at Elizabethtown College on March 4-6.

Each year more than 100 students from 30 colleges and universities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are nominated by their band director and chosen to participate by a selection committee. A nationally known guest conductor and a challenging program of music are selected.

Having five of our students selected from hundreds of entries is a tribute to their hard work and dedication, said William Ciabattari, associate professor and music department chair at Lycoming College. Working with so many elite performers will give the students an unparalleled experience.

Chiaretti, along with four other students, will join the other collegiate musicians to rehearse for two days and perform in concert on Sunday, March 6, 2016. The performance is free and open to the public.
