Emily Feld inducted into Gamma Sigma Alpha honor society

Emily Feld, a sophomore with a major in psychology from Succasunna, N.J., was inducted into the Lycoming College chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha, the national Greek honor society, on March 21 during a ceremony in the Mary L. Welch Honors Hall. Feld is a member of Alpha Sigma Tau.

Gamma Sigma Alpha, National Greek Academic Honor Society, was founded to promote intellectual interaction between Greek students and the academic community. The purpose of the Society is to promote the advancement of education among Greeks, to instill a greater spirit of cooperation among Greek students and organizations, and to encourage excellence in scholarship. Gamma Sigma Alpha is committed to the leadership, academic achievement, and excellence of Greek members everywhere.

Students are eligible for membership based on their grade point average and active membership in a Greek fraternity or sorority recognized by their university. The society strives to uphold the highest ideals of scholastic achievement, and therefore, only students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above at the start of their junior year (or have sixty or more credits) are eligible to join.
