Lansberry named MAC Wrestler of the Week

2016 Dec 13

A school-record breaking performance has helped Lycoming College senior 149-pounder Seth Lansberry (Klingerstown, Pa./Line Mountain) earn his sixth career Middle Atlantic Conference Wrestler of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Nov. 14.

Lansberry broke the school's career technical falls record at the John Carroll Duals, posting two to give him 14 in his career and surpass the mark set by Derek Crane (2001-06) and Isaiah Britton (2009-11).

Lansberry posted two technical falls, a major decision and a decision at the event while helping the Warriors to a 3-1 record. The senior posted an 18-2 technical fall over Adrian's Ty Jasman, a 12-0 major decision against Lourdes' Garrett Carter, a 16-0 technical fall against Otterbein's Cortez Gainey and a 10-3 decision over John Carroll's Jarrad Lasko.

Lansberry is now fourth in program history with 112 career wins, having accumulated a 112-21 record at the college. He is 15 wins shy of the school record of 127 wins set by Royce Eyer from 1997-01.

The top-ranked 149-pounder in Division III, Lansberry also earned the MAC's Wrestler of the Week award on Nov. 25, 2013, Nov. 17, 2014, Jan. 5, 2015, Jan. 18, 2016 and Feb. 8, 2016.

The Warriors get back on the mat on Sunday, Nov. 20, when they will host Elizabethtown (1 p.m.), Washington & Jefferson (2:30 p.m.) and Penn College (4 p.m.) in a quad-match at Lamade Gym.
