Lazarich earns second MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week nod

2016 Dec 13

Thanks to an overtime game-winning goal against Lebanon Valley, junior Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) has earned her second MAC Offensive Player of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Oct. 24.

Down 2-0 against the Flying Dutchmen, Lazarich willed the Warriors to the win posting two goals and an assist in the game's final 63 minutes to lead the team to the come-from-behind 3-2 win, its first over Lebanon Valley since 2008.

Her final goal, a beautiful, running left-footed kick that fooled the goalkeeper, helped her break the school record of 38 points in a season, set by Danielle Curry in 2004, as Lazarich's 19 goals and two assists give her 40 on the season. Lazarich also has school records of 19 goals and six game-winning goals this season, while she also holds the school's career records of 47 goals, 102 points and 12 game-winning goals.

Lazarich has earned the MAC Commonwealth's Offensive Player of the Week award a school-record four times, as she earned it on Sept. 22 and Oct. 6, 2014 and on Sept. 6, 2016, when she was also named the NSCAA National Division III Player of the Week.

The Warriors wrap up the 2016 season when they host Stevenson in MAC Commonwealth action on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 12 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
