Lazarich named MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week

2017 Apr 5

After notching seven points during a three-game week, junior midfielder Jordan Lazarich has earned her second career MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, March 20.

Lazarich led the Warriors during a 1-1 week, posting four goals, three assists, nine draw controls, six ground balls and a caused turnover. In a 12-10 setback to Marywood, Lazarich scored a goal and added three assists, while recording five draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover.

The junior scored a hat trick in a 12-11 win over Methodist, while adding four draw controls and three ground balls. She scored the game-tying goal with 15:14 left, making a nice play by rushing into the arc to get a ground ball off a saved shot and then flying to the left to score.

Lazarich is two points shy of becoming the 11th player in school history to reach 150 in a career and three goals shy of becoming the 13th to score 100 times.

Lazarich also earned the MAC Commonwealth weekly honors in lacrosse on March 14, 2016 and is a four-time winner in soccer.

The Warriors get back on the field on Tuesday, March 21, when they head to Misericordia for a 4 p.m. non-conference matchup.
