Tenant earns third career MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week award

With an impressive 18-save performance in a 10-9 overtime win against King's College, sophomore goaltender Michael Tenant (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) has earned his second MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, March 13.

Tenant was outstanding for the Warriors in the win over the Monarchs. The sophomore finished the game with 18 saves while facing 53 shots (27 on goal) for a .667 save percentage. Tenant made 10 saves while allowing just three goals on 30 shots in the first half. He made eight more saves in the second half, including a save on a point-blank shot between his legs with 31 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to keep the game tied to force overtime. He also grabbed two ground balls in the win.

Tenant, who leads the MAC Commonwealth with 14.5 saves per game, also earned the award on Feb. 27 after making 27 saves in the team's first two games of the season. He also earned the award on Feb. 28, 2016, as a freshman after an 18-save effort in a win over Gwynedd Mercy.
